Attempted armed robbery – Peakhurst

Police are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery on a general store in Peakhurst yesterday.

Just after 6.30pm (Thursday 16 April 2015), police were called to Baumans Road after man walked into the shop, with a firearm, and demanded money and cigarettes.

The 58-year-old store owner placed the money into a plastic bag he was given then hid behind the counter.

The man fled empty handed.

No one was injured.

The man has been described to police as wearing a flannelette style checked shirt, long dark pants and gloves. He had his face covered.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended and a crime scene was established. A police dog searched the surrounding area without success.
