A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery of a service station in San Souci earlier this week.

About 10pm Wednesday (29 April 2015), a man allegedly entered a service station on Rocky Point Road, armed with a knife and a blood-filled syringe.

He allegedly threatened the attendant; a man aged in his 30s, and demanded cash.

The attendant complied with his demands and handed over an amount of cash, before the man ran from the scene. He was not injured during the incident.

Police from St George Local Area Command were called to the scene and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

About 8.20am yesterday (Friday 1 May 2015), following investigations, police attended a home on Torchwood Street, San Souci, and arrested a 46-year-old man.

Following his arrest police executed a search warrant at the home and seized a number of items that will undergo forensic examinations.

The man was taken to St George Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 2 May 2015).
