A man will appear in court over stalking offences after allegedly following the same girl at Central Railway Station over the past two weeks.

Police have been told, about two weeks ago, a 14-year-old girl and her 12-year-old friend began noticing a man waiting for the pair as they arrived at Central Railway Station on weekday afternoons.

It will be alleged the man continued following the girls to a park at Chippendale on each occasion.

On Tuesday night (5 May 2015), the older girl received a ‘friend’ notification request via the same man.

The girl alerted her school principal, who alerted police.

Just after 8.15am yesterday (Thursday 7 May 2015), officers attached to the Police Transport Command arrested a 29-year-old man as he left a bus at Broadway, Sydney City.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station. He was charged with stalk/intimidate and granted conditional bail, to appear at Newtown Local Court on Monday 11 May 2015.
