Police appeal for assistance following robbery – Waterloo

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was robbed at Waterloo yesterday.

Officers attached to Redfern Local Area Command have been told a 53-year-old man met another man via an online networking site.

About 6am yesterday (Tuesday 31 March 2015), the pair allegedly met at the victim’s home in Cope Street at Waterloo.

The 53-year-old man was allegedly threatened with a knife and robbed of a gold neck chain by the other man.

The man eventually contacted police to report the alleged incident about 12am the following day (Wednesday 1 April 2015).

Police would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, aged 25 years, about 180cm to 185cm tall, large build, and with a thin beard.

He was wearing a grey-coloured hooded top and grey shorts at the time.
