SAMBO is a martial art and combat sport developed to improve hand-to-hand combat abilities.
The system is similar in many ways to judo and jujutsu but also incorporates different types of wrestling and is perfectly suited to the Krav Maga style of ground and pound on the ground.
Many of you might have heard of the undefeated UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov. In Sambo, Khabib found the perfect blend of standing and floor-based grappling to take his fight game to the next level. Having trained in wrestling, sambo, and judo from an early age under his late father Abdulmanap, Khabib's exceptional chain wrestling made him all but unbeatable by the time he arrived in the octagon.

Women's only self-defence classes available on Wednesday and Saturday at 10am.
Classes aim to improve confidence, fitness, and well-being.
Every class begins with a light warm-up session, followed by stretching and a few power drills. These will be gentle enough for beginners to start their journey.
Once you step onto the mat you will feel your stresses drift away, and the fun really begins.
Classes will conclude with an aggression drill at the end, ensuring that you are pumped and charged up for the day ahead.
Krav Maga is a self-defence system that has been widely adopted by elite tier military and law enforcement units. The system was developed for the main goal 'So one may walk in peace.'
