KRAV MAGA FOR SCHOOLS

What is Krav Maga Self Defence?
Krav Maga self-defence classes for schools are designed to teach school students from primary to high-school to protect themselves from someone who intends to harm them or someone they care about.
Krav Maga is a real world self defence system that is trusted by military and law enforcement institutions around the world. Not all self-defence systems are equal. Krav Maga is primarily about survival skills and is NOT a martial art.
We do not teach katas or choreographed sets.
When attacked, the attacker does not fight fair, does not attack because they think they will lose the altercation, does not wear protective gear, and does not follow the rules set by the referee.
Krav Maga teaches situational awareness, how to survive in dangerous situations, de-escalation techniques, and self-defence and fighting skills that are effective, easy to learn, and can be applied against a stronger and bigger attacker.
This is particularly important for our younger students.
90% of victims who are children know their attackers.
As is obvious in the daily news, there is a great need for all of us in the community to learn the skills necessary to ward off potential attackers. Education is certainly the way to do so.
We instruct kids on how to stay out of potentially hazardous situations and how to handle being attacked.
As their level of personal development and health knowledge rises, our experienced and patient instructors demonstrate to them how to become more assertive and self-assured, whilst increasing their level of personal development and health awareness.
SUITABILITY AND AUDIENCE
All schools and students have unique challenges and needs. This may include considerations of recent events on school premises, student ages, genders, and the composition of the school.
We can custom design a syllabus that suits any school’s needs and includes reference to the particular rules and regulations of the school.
Custom designed courses may be organised to cater to primary school students, high school students and university student programs.
A specialised syllabus can also be made available for female students.
Statistically, girls are more likely to be attacked by a lone assailant, whereas boys are more susceptible to being approached by a group of assailants.
OUR INSTRUCTORS
All SGS Krav Maga instructors are trained and qualified to teach children from the age of 3 years.
In addition, all of our instructors have the necessary regulatory and compliance checks and clearances in place including Working With Children Checks.
