Could your teen be the target of bullying or harassment?
While at school, before or after school school, at bus stops, trains and train stations, at house parties or on the street, teenagers can be exposed to situations that may compromise their safety or well-being.
Teens are known to take more risks as they establish their independence, and this makes them more vulnerable than average to potential harm. They may feel intimidated or threatened, physically or otherwise, by a peer, an older teen, an adult, someone known to them, or a complete stranger.
No parent wants their teen to be a target of bullying, violence, or threats – verbal or physical. The best defence against the teenage years in general is a strong and healthy sense of self-respect, self-esteem, confidence – and a self-defence skill-set that can be used if required.
Teenage Self-Defence training at SGS Krav Maga is focused on the teenager as a whole person. That means focusing our self-defence training on developing and nurturing their:

During our Teen Self-Defence classes, our instructors will focus on drills and fitness exercises that will increase fitness, mental toughness, and develop the ability to persevere despite stress and fatigue. These are lifelong and transferable skills.
The self-defence techniques taught draw from the world’s most effective reality-based self-defence system, tailored to the scenarios most commonly encountered by teenagers in their day to day lives.
Students are taught situational awareness, what to do if they are attacked/ bullied and when and how to avoid a physical confrontation.

CURRICULUM
Our current teens program caters for teenagers between 13 and 17 years old.
As students progress, the program follows their development into adulthood. Teens are welcome to join the Adults classes when they feel ready.
In addition to Krav Maga techniques, we cover (age-appropriate) topics such as:
- how to cope and deal with bullying
- intimidation and peer pressure
- how to react to threats
LIFE APPLICATION
Real-life applications of the skills that teenagers are taught include:
- defending themselves, and protecting others.
- developing confidence and awareness.
- identifying, avoid and de-escalate threats and dangers.
- improving strength, endurance and coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS
All of our instructors undertake and hold:
- GIC – General Instructors Course (180 hours) certification
- First aid training a valid WWCC (Working with Children Check.)

TRAINING KRAV MAGA

Different people have different reasons for starting with Krav Maga, and here at SGS we believe that any person should be able to practice successful self-defense according to his or her physical ability, but at the same time each individual should push themselves past their comfort zone.
Therefore, you do not have to be in good shape or fit when you start training Krav Maga.
Even though Krav Maga is a self-defense system, it is also important to have better physical fitness, including strength and stamina to further help your abilities to deal with physical threats and conflicts.
At SGS Krav Maga, our training focuses on improving overall fitness, fighting stamina, and core strength. Regular training enhances mental strength, ability to focus, and decision-making processes under stressful conditions.
Hybrid Krav-Maga, as an organization, gives its students a framework and a “family” of like-minded people, a community your teen will appreciate belonging to.
There is no need for prior martial arts knowledge.
Our classes are conducted in an environment where everyone once was a beginner and the unique atmosphere.
