Teenager charged with armed robbery – Waterloo

A teenager will appear in court today, following an armed robbery in Waterloo earlier this week.

About 8.45pm on Monday (6 April 2015), a 20-year-old delivery driver was delivering food on Wellington Street, Waterloo, when he was approached by a boy.

The boy allegedly threatened the man with a gun and demanded his mobile phone.

About 9.30am yesterday (Tuesday 7 April), following investigations, police arrested a 14-year-old boy on Pitt Street, Waterloo.

During a search of the boy, police allegedly located and seized a replica firearm and a knife.

Following his arrest, police executed a search warrant at the boy’s home where a number of items were seized.

The seized items will undergo forensic examinations.

He was taken to Redfern Police Station where he was charged with robbery in company, robbery whilst armed, possess unauthorised firearm, and carry cutting weapon.

The boy was refused bail and will appear at Children’s Court today.
